Identify what must be recovered

List the database, files, configuration, versions and access mechanisms kept in an appropriate location. Define acceptable downtime and the records that cannot be lost. Protect the copies and isolate at least one backup from operational systems.

Restore without overwriting production

Prepare a separate environment, restore the selected copy, verify its integrity and exercise essential functions. A physical database check alone does not establish the consistency of attachments, permissions and business rules.

Accept the recovery result

Keep the backup date, versions, steps, observed durations and gaps. Reconcile records written since the backup before switching systems. Our local SQLite reopening tests after process interruption are distinct from a full disaster recovery exercise.
